Go and Make your bed

Faith for the big things begins with the small things.

Most people who are called to believe for the impossible began first by believing in the probable. But, it’s not the size of the impossibility that matters, it’s the amount of obedience you are willing to give it to see it come true.

When you are obedient in the small things the stretching into the bigger things becomes so gradual you scarcely notice your feet leaving the floor as you leap toward the impossible. Why? Because Faith is becoming aware of how much God can do and, by His showing up in all those little things, that He is obedient to keep showing up especially in those bigger things.

When God showed me what my future could be, I didn’t ask Him how I would get from here to there, by that time in my life I had learned He was trustworthy. The question was, am I?

He had me prove it the next day when after giving me a dream for something bigger than where I was, He asked me to hang a bathroom cabinet. And the next day, He asked me to do the dishes.

Can the sovereign God of the Universe impart such grace and gifting that allows someone to suddenly move in His power and leap into their destiny? Yes. But most of the time, the God of impossibilities wants to know first how willing you are to dream Big with him. His method for testing is generally a healthy dose of humility and obedience.

Of one thing I am certain, God is a Big Dreamer and He is most faithful to fulfill. Let us be so bold to approach His throne of grace and dream with Him. Believing for the impossible, not because it could happen but because He will. Obedience is the key.
