Lectio Divina from the Jesse Tree
NOAH’S ARK – Day 2 👫
Genesis 7:4-24

“Male and Female went into the ark.”

There was no confusion among those who entered the ark. Each creature knew itself and every one knew it’s kind.

When it comes to global disasters, apocalyptic writings, prophecy and end game scenarios the one thing that stands out is the totality of the events.

The first reformation of the earth was no different.

“He blotted out EVERY living thing.”

Every creature which He had breathed His life into was removed. The litmus test was not His Breath found within but His Truth. The only creatures to survive where those who found their way onto the ark, unconfused. Those who were left that embodied the the Truth, “male and female he created them.”

Acceptance is the first step in conflict resolution. We have to learn to hold ourselves accountable for what is True before we can discern what is false. If we try to address the lies before we address the truth then we are doomed to an endless cycle of blame shifting, denial, and blindness. But when we accept ourselves as we are, we can begin to take accountability for what we are not. The first step to discovering Truth is accepting yourself without justification, without pronouns, and then allowing yourself to discover the beauty of who you are and for what purpose you were created. Only you can’t do it alone.

It’s impossible to see the Truth when darkness covers it. That is unless there is someone near us with a light who is willing to shine it in our direction.

They walked “two by two”.

Because it’s only when we walk in the context of another that we can gauge how far we’ve wandered away or discern that we are walking in the same direction as our kind. A solitary lamp will wander aimlessly in circles but shine another lamp and he will have a direction in which to go.

“All flesh died.”

But whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them (John 6:55).

All flesh will die who have not eaten the flesh of Christ, which opens the eye and unblinds us to Truth.

“Only Noah, was left and those who were with him”

There is no rapture for the righteous. The righteous are left behind.

When the rains come, and the flood waters rise to sweep away the confused, will you be among those left with Noah? Will you be found left with His Body in The Ark?

“Mary, in whom the Lord himself has just made his dwelling, is the daughter of Zion in person, the Ark of the Covenant, the place where the glory of the Lord dwells. She is ‘the dwelling of God . . . with men’” (CCC 2676)
